Default Run N Gun Session Clarification & Run Groups

I just got an email from a good friend of mine that was asking if we were going to co-mingle the run groups eg. Kit Cars with the Pony Cars and the answer is No. At this time we plan on keeping those classes seperate.

If you have not been to Run N Gun in a while we have our classes for awards but we seperate all drivers by lap times into RUN GROUPS. Meaning that regardless of your awards class you could be in a Run Group that has grouped cars that run within 10 seconds of each other. In the past we found that there were some really fast cars in Street Classes and some really slow cars in the Pro Classes. That scenario caused fast drivers to get angry because they were getting held up and the slower drivers got nervous because they were always getting passed and having to point someone around them.

We allow the drivers to establish their run group in their first session on Thursday. Then we sort all the kit cars by their times and all the pony cars by their times. We will sort everyone into two or three time groups each seperated by 10 seconds + or -. We found that by doing this the fast cars are not held up by the slower cars and the slower cars are not intimidated by the faster ones. We anticipate three kit car run groups and two pony car run groups. We only want 15 cars in a group so if one group has more than 15 cars in it we will have an A and B group for that Run Group.

At our first drivers meeting we may take a vote to see if a mixed class (kit car & pony car) session with one in the morning and one in the afternoon would be of interest. George has promised 7 hours of track time each day so we will have plenty of track time.

I have received some really good questions so far, so if you have anything you want to know about Run N Gun don't hesitate to ask. Either PM myself, Dean Lampe or Mat951 or feel free to post your questions on the board.

Thank so much for all your interest.
