My first RNG was 1993, in Indianapolis. It was run by the magazine then, as I recall, and the attendance was large. I haven't been in a long time. Maybe this year, although it is a HUGE trek from Phoenix...

Thanks for the info. When does registration open?
Thanks Mike |
My wife and I were at the 1996 Run & Gun but did not bring a car. We also enjoyed the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland. Kit Car or Kit Car Illustrated magazine was involved in the R&G.
As spectators, the R & G was fascinating. Everybody was very friendly. We studied the different replicas and saw the one of the first Superformance roadsters in the US. It was yellow and had a 460 CJ. We are looking forward to as much this event as we did at the other two. The first registrant I met in Norwalk was George Anderson. He was #2 registering his Midstates 427 C6 automatic Cobra. I rode with him down the track once and still have the timeslip and photo on my refrigerator. The next year my wife and I went to a Ford/Shelby event in Tulsa. The road course at Hallett was a great venue for fun in any car. We sure hope we can make it this year. Thanks for reading this novella! Russell and Marie Patton |
We should have everything up for Registration by July 1, 2012. Mark Earls is working his tail off to make this happen.
I think you will find that this years Run N Gun will be about $100 less than previous Run N Guns without sacraficing any of the fun. Included in your registration will be your: car number Scoring Transponder T=Shirt for one Steak or Chicken Dinner at the Saturday Night Banquet for one, Your chance at over 50 awards for 1st and 2nd place plus a few others A whole lot of Fun! Keep checking our website Run N Gun Clois Harlan |
Heck I save the 100 bucks on gas. Tulsa is alot closer to Austin, than St. Louis or Hastings, NE.
|
So in your case Gregg you will be saving $200. Go for you. I am really looking forward to the October event.
|
I am looking forward to driving Hallet for the first time. Plus I get to see all my distant friends that I have made through R-n-G. I am really looking forward to making the event this year.
|
I just want to remind those still on the fence that the early registration price goes up September 16, 2012. If you are planning to attend this years Run N Gun at Hallett (Tulsa, OK) you can save yourself $50 by registering before Saturday September 15, 2012.
The weather will be fantastic for this years event and the awards, banquet, hotel and environment will be the subject of your conversation for the next 12 months. Join us at this years Run N Gun. Run 'N Gun Clois Harlan tulsacobra@gmail.com 918-633-5336 |
MMM, wonder if I can get the new car done....Sure do miss you guys!!
|
It would be great to see you and your brother at the track this year. You guys are the rabbit I like to chase...kinda a reference for whether I am improving or not!
Good luch with your efforts and try and make it. This years Run N Gun should prove to be very competitive in some of the faster classes. Clois |

Richard,
It would be great to see you again! This is a true road course track. I think it would be a lot more fun for you and maybe some of the other Backdraft guys. It is going to be a lot of fun this year! |
Hurry up Richard. I'm trying to get a car done as well. Full cage, 427W dry sumped, 6 speed. Sounds the same, except different.:D
Mat |
Ok Richard you running in the Pro class now you ringer:eek: lol ;) with all that practice you get running the Mustang your shure to be a Rocket on track :)
|
Richard,
Bring the Mustang we have a late model class.... |
Mat, that sounds remarkably similar to what I am trying to put together. She'll be a handful for sure. Unfortunately the Mustang is not mine, and I think taking it on that kind of road trip may be pushing the relationship with the owner a little. My car won't be ready for this event, but progress is being made. I may have to block out a week or two for next year, and come find some cooler weather.

Looks impressive Richard. Can't wait to see it sometime. Let us know when and where you decide to test it out. Clois and I keep talking about road trips, not sure when or where it will be though. My car has a lot further to go, at best it will be go cart ish with a primer body on it. See my thread, just called "new build". Hopefully we'll be testing fitting a motor next week and line up some plumbing as well.

This is going to be an interesting comparison. I can't see your pictures until I get home (company blocks this sort of thing) but is the the project that Tony was referring to a couple of years ago when mine was still just a frame and a prayer? :)

I was just looking at our list of attendees and there is going to be a very wide range of Cobras respresented. This is a good place to do a little shopping if you want to see a couple cars parked next to each other. They all look like cobra's running down the road but there are a lot of differences when they are parked next to each other.

For all thinking of just dropping by to check us out....please do. Gate admission is free.
