Thanks Jeff for the excellent photos. A couple of questions - what is the material on the backside & does it just sit on top of the leather (no edge treatment)?

It is a PE type panel and yes sits on top.
Originals were different.

The originals are more like a melamine pressboard which curls and degrades.
The PE is lasting and replication.

Been working on things unseen clearing brakes from wheels etc. A few additions via Mike Kraus will help as this frame was missing a few things. BTW Mike can also fabricate a frame. He has really done a great job making frame plans, attention to detail second to none.
THANKS MIKE!

Collecting parts on the side.

Hi Jeff, this one is going to be a street car, a clone of #2317 ? Instead of the T-10 why don't you go with a 5spd for a better highway cruise?

Tom

Great question. First the T10 is correct for the car. Using a 64 -289 five bolt block limits some fittment of new options.
A five speed would be nice but I think I prefer a fully functional period part.
Using a 3:31 rear should be fine at 70mph.

Jeff,

The frame looks great! What are you going to have done to it at the frame shop? I imagine that it is going tone powder coated. Looking forward to the nests photos.

Getting some welding done and adding a few parts that are missing.
Next will be paint then body on and alloy parts hood, boot and doors.
Inner panel patterns are ready to install.
Hoping to get this project in gear.

Neat cars - amazingly roomy seating for two once inside. I have memory of tearing through a neighborhood with a crazy friend in his Mini about 1969. We apparently irritated a home owner who was not a foreign car fan and he ran out and chased us down the street with a rake.
