Yes, correct.

Another page question. Is there a page for the engine specs etc ?

Great numbers & always love low RPM TQ, gets the car going then HP takes over. Barry's at top of engine builders, great choice.

I want about the same engine, just can't afford it. Your entire build is fantastic, so be proud and have fun !

Thanks for documenting.

So, Craig, when do you start a new thread on the blue one in the background? Can't seem to get enough of your builds!

And I hope that Mongoose eventually creates another thread with some full-size pictures of the cleaned-up car from all angles.

Looking forward to doing just that. Driving down to VA next Wednesday to see the completed car for the first time. Can't wait!!! This is how the Hi-Tech looked 6.5 years ago when I bought it. I was able to salvage the frame, uprights, and rotors. Everything else was either discarded, traded or sold and replaced...

Is the differential cooler for racing? For street use why would it get so hot it needs a cooler?

Mongoose930 07-03-2019 05:25 PM

Hi Mike,

This is a recreation of one of the early 427 comp cars. No SC lip and wider rear fender flares. No front cooling fans as these cars were used on the track and not on the street for the most part. Early FIA wheels. Single fresh air vent, comp seat, brake ducts and of course, a diff cooler with air duct. There are several other subtle differences but these are some of the main ones.

Who knows, someday I may want to track the car but for now, I was just going for originality...

And you (with Craig’s expertise) nailed it. Now take it to Amelia Island or Pebble Beach and fool all of the experts. This car is amazing top to bottom, front to back. Congratulations on a terrific re-creation.

Well it was a bitter sweet moment, we loaded up Kevins red car and it is on it's way back to NH.

My shop certainly feels a little different with out a red car inside, :D

As for the next project, I have a couple very cool and very different builds up next.;)

Blue66 07-12-2019 05:16 AM

NH ??? I don't get out that much anymore. Ill have to keep an eye out for it.

Got the report this morning just over 200 miles logged now including a few spirited laps at saac.
and all good!
Car is also being used as a daily!;)
Here it is parked at the office, so great!!

maurice19 07-17-2019 09:46 AM

Fancy aluminium cars get to take 2 spots.

Love the car
Maurice

Mongoose930 07-17-2019 10:21 AM

The parking lot is never really that full. I just like that view from my desk. Those two spots center the car in my office window:)
