How many times are you going to lose his number?

Three Peaks 04-18-2006 08:38 PM

I had his e-mail but never got around to getting his phone number. I know, my bad!!!!:)
Now that I am almost ready for some parts from him, I guess I'll need it??????

:):):):):):)

Still trying to figure out these darned door hinges! AAAAARRRRRRGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!

OK check your kitchen cupboards. We need saucepan lids in stainless steel. We'll be cutting a 5.5" circle out of them. We want a dished shape with flat tops that are 1" higher than the 5.5" with a 3" flat we can cut a 2" hole into. If you're confused by my explanation see the tank drawing in my gallery and check the sender recess. Karl and I will keep quiet if one of mothers lids goes missing!!!

Mine is already cut out for the sender and the pickup is part of the tank already also. I just mounted the tank low enough to clear the frame members enough for the sending unit and pick up tube to fit with about 3/4" clearance. I'm still above the level of the bottom of the frame rails by a bit.
However, if you need a stainless lid, the best place to find that stuff without risking your marital bliss is Goodwill or Salvation Army. Garage sales are good also.
Good luck on your scavenger hunt.

I got some! First yard sale I stopped at they had a stack of them. How many do I need lads?

Three Peaks 04-22-2006 11:49 AM

I'm not sure, are you going into the tank production business, or building new age art sculptures? :):)

stainless lids

Hey Nick, Are these the normal saucepan lids that everyone has at a yard sale and cost approx. .50 cents each?

Or are these the special lids that are identical to the others but have "cobra" stamped in them and they cost 50.00 each?

I'll take (1) one please.

thanks, Karl

These are actually the small stainless dishes like you'd use with a magnet on the back for a hardware tray while wrenching. They might be ashtrays or something but they are perfect for what we are doing. I'm thinking of laser etching them with Made in England, soldering them together and gauranteeing their originality as proved by the leaks.........LOL
