Which brake fluid comes in the CSX cars as rollers? How good is it?

When I visted shelby in LV it was johansens -- It is probably a mineral Dot3. -

- I would replace with Castrol GT-LMA fluid during the install/bleed process.

Steve,

Wouldn't most rollers be delivered without any fluids?

Sometimes the color will tip you off, but it doesn't really matter. It is undoubtedly DOT3/4; it is not DOT 5. Do not use DOT 5. Sitting out in your garage during this season's weather your fluid has been lapping up the moisture. Three years of doing that and it's time for a flush and fill. FWIW, this is what I use:

I think the rollers come with the fluid in them already (I was told mine did), which is why I asked the question. Thanks for the responses.

I've always wondered whether these things really worked or not.

They come with brake fluid in bled and working. Clutch is empty as it's not connected. I'm using a hydraulic internal throwout bearing on this one that calls out a dot 3 fluid. I recommend and use the Castrol LMA also. Synthetic is more compressible and doesn't give quite as hard a pedal feel.

The Castrol GTLMA is great stuff. But I use ATE Super Blue DOT 4 because it comes in two colors (blue and amber). That way when you flush the system with the alternate color, you know you have new stuff in the system. It is great stuff...

Hey Jack that's a good idea. I'm usually using two colors as well but they are black and amber LOL.

Castrol GT LMA in my CSX. No problems, good stuff. If you still have the Girling tin brake cans, you'll be changing from black to clear/amber at each change.

The rollers we have seen have brake fluid in them as they have tested the brake hydraulics from the factory.

I went over my pictures and notes from S - LV, and it was a Quaker State natural brake fluid in a Dot 4 flavor in the LV Cobra Build Den. --

The Clutch res/ is usually dry.
