Best way to lock shock adjustment rings in place?
What is the best way to lock these adjustment rings in place? Is there any more elegant way to do it other than just getting another adjustment ring and using it as a jam nut? Seems like there should be some sort of locking pin.

it looks like you have the pin type spanner on yours doug. if you look at patricks he has two nuts to jam together which locks them. was there another pair of adjusting nuts that didn't get put on? if not i would call the shock manufacturer or the dealer and try to obtain a set, doesn't look like there would be any other way to lock them

Do they not have a set screw?? It looks like there is a drilled hole in the ring where a set screw would lock it down.

It looks like they are PRO shocks. To lock them in place there are two small holes in the adjustment rings. After you've reached desired height, insert a piece of wire through one of these holes and wrap around the first coil of the spring, and the adjustment ring. Bring both ends together and twist tight. Cut off excess and bend out of the way. Hope that helps. John O

Doug: set-up is same as my Kirkham, (I wonder why?) I'd post a pic, if I could, but can't. There should be a groove ( keyway) running vertically on the shock. Mine has 2 loops of heavy (.040 ) saftey wire looped through the groove, up over the bottom coil of the spring and adj ring, and twisted to the other end of the wire. Acts like a key in the keyway. Looking at your 2nd pic, I can just barely see the groove.
