CSX 4995 / Export Only?
|
Maybe it has been totaled.
Possibly an east coast hurricane victim. Now repaired? |
The tires in the background adds a nice touch!
|
Thats a possibility, title washed in Canada.......listing shows title is "clear".
I'll check the SAAC registry when I get home for the original owner, don't want any of our foreign friends to get burned. |
The engine bay looks dirty, the cockpit is dirty (the carpet are seat belts show some kind of staining), the whole car could have been detailed better for the pictures.
And what's with the big red "WARNING" post on the right of the windshield? Hmmm... |
There is a story here that involves both Canadian and US govt. agencies. Lets just say this is what happens when you try to decieve the authorities.............
|
Looks like the belts have mold spots.
|
Yea, looks a bit suspect to me. I noticed the "warning" sign as well. I just hope any potential buyer sees the "warning".
That being said, the qualification as to where it can't be sold begs explanation on the surface. The warning sign, pile of tires in the background, mold spots on the seat belts, overall dirty presentation, etc. just screams "ask lots of questions and do not buy without seeing first and explanation". |
Some thing is very wrong. Even Russia?
See my eBay reply: Dear rpatton3, This cobra is a reverse of your car. This one can only be exported, it can not be registered in the US, because a stipulation from the US border and Customs department. - uzzisl |
This car was also on Cobra Country. Sure looks like it was flood damaged with all those stains and seemingly dirty water residue. Also, the ride height in the front is a mess. Something is very wrong with this car. %/
I really can't stand dishonest/misleading sellers. |
Quote " even the Russians".
There are some Russians who can get very angry, wise move not to betray. |

The Russians don't get mad; they get even!

I asked him a question on Ebay about the export only and asked if it had flood damage or had ever had a salvage title. We'll see if he answers. He does have a 100% ebay rating, so maybe he will. |

I saw that ad yesterday and thought it was strange. Also noticed it's listed as a 1966 and titled as a 2008. I can maybe understand the title year, but where did 1966 come from? I'm sure the Shelby MSO said 1965.
|
So here is what I got back. Too bad he doesn't just say this in the ad:
Dear dbw, The stipulation when I purchased it from U.S. Customs and Boarder Department was that the car has to be exported. The title is CLEAR, it is not a flood car, nor is it a Salvaged Title. - uzzisl |
I don't think this was "evidence" in a drug case or security from IRS auction. I have been to IRS auctions. Our sheriff had a Navigator he was holding for DEA. He had to report mileage quarterly. Naturally, under lock and key with video security, too.

It still needs a day or so at the spa before anyone @should consider buying it...
