CSX4000 upper balljoint (South Africa)
Good day!
Based on a recent inquiry I can tell you that the CSX4000 front upper balljoint was made under PN BJ267 which had been used on the south african built GM/OPEL Ranger until 1973 (see Wikipedia, "Ranger").
I believe the BMW E36 can be adapted as a replacement. It's about 4mm smaller in diameter than the "original" one (41mm versus 45.5mm) which could be compensated for by using a ring insert in the upper control arm. I didn't check the taper though.
I sourced one BJ267, possibly the last one for usd$15.00 today which I sell to the highest bidder ;-)
