Pretty outrageous price, but someone will probably pay it. What is that VH Trip box where the glove box belongs? Almost looks like it was used as a taxi.

Bigger deal overseas as importing tough. Cars over there go for more $$$ for sure same in UK.

It's for rally driving.

That makes some sense. I really doubted that it was used as a taxi, but that was the first thing that it reminded me of.

European taxes and fees add significantly to the price of any car imported from the US. Plus, the age and other restrictions make any car already in the EU much preferred over trying to bring in one already in the US. Bring the car back to the US makes no sense, but exchange within the EU isn't too far off the mark.

The problem is not on taxes and fees.
The problem is that for 99.99% you can NOT register such car coming for the US to drive it on the streets.
This is the reason why the prices of the already street legal cars went up and are still going up.
CSX8988 - built 21st century = you have to follow the regulations for cars built during the same time = no chance

Interesting, I believe I read that some earlier built replicas( 25 - 30years old) are being exported to Europe and are passing registration due to their build date.
Can you elaborate on this?

In Switzerland it is 30 years.
BUT it is 30 years from the first (street legal) registration of the car and not of the age of the engine or washer bottle.
e.g a title with 1965 is useless on a CSX 4000.

About the registration in France. This is nice, but as Switzerland is not France they challenge this registration on a first place.
And don't forget. The guys on the DMV have as well internet and google.
Therefore you need to have 120% evidence to put on their desk prior to get any OK
