A great looking 427 with an impeccable original competition pedigree, starting with Mr. Grossman...

"...addition to the collection of any esteemed racing or automotive enthusiast."

That ruined it for me. The audacity to assume one has a collection and only then add a Cobra ;-)

The ad says it comes with blue streak tires, but the pictures seem to be bill boards instead.

According the SAAC Registry, CSX3016 was totaled by Grossman at Watkins Glen in August 1966, the original drivetrain removed and the rest of the wreck sold for scrap to his mechanic who used the repaired chassis for a 1937 Ford Stock Car. Then there is all kinds of confusion over the years with CSX3106 being mixed up with "CSX3016". The scrapped CSX3016 shock tower welded onto a later CSX3xxx, and it just gets sketchier from there.. . its a ghost car. certainly not with "impeccable pedigree".

Oh that car. It keeps coming back from the dead. Even vampire stakes and silver bullets can't kill it.
