CSX4000, How many can be made
What happens after they complete CSX4999?
Also, how close are these to the original? |
You so funny!
"What happens after they complete CSX4999?"
ROTFL! Stop! Your making my sides hurt! jdog;) |
I don't understand your answer. I was asking a real question.
|
Rsimoes...
It's taken JDOG 400 years to try and get his CSX4795. He figures at current manufacturing rate it will take a while. I asked that question long awhile ago. The answer was there is a plan. Mike |
Well, well, well....looks who's back. What happened Rob, you finaly get bored of the Corvette? :D Hope you and the family are well.
Let's just say CSX has had some issues in getting cars out. If you're seriously considering the Cobra again, you might really like a car like the Backdraft, SPF or something like that. Welcome back to the dark side. Steve |
How many 4000's can be made?
1000 is the simple answer, unless CS builds CSX4000A, then the answer is 27,000. |

OOOPS!
Sorry,
When I saw that you had been a member since 2003 and had losts of posts I thought you were up on current events. I should have checked to see when your last post was. My Bad! Welcome back, can I interest you in ordering a CSX roller? jdog:cool: P.S. They are very close to the original, most parts are inter-changable. |
jdog,
You thinkin' about selling your spot and what has been completed so far? |
If the waiting period is 20 months and your car number is 4999, you may want to will your spot to your grandchild (or their grandchild)?
|
No, no, I'm not bored of the Z06. Infact, I enjoy it like no other car I have ever owned! That thing is a race car on the street.
Family is well. I'm enjoying being a daddy! The Cobra dream still exists, it never left. The previous way of achieving it wasn't really the way I wanted it, so I pulled out. But I will be back when the time is right. The dream was always an original, but that can't happen, so I want to see how close I can get. . . But for now, I'm taking notes, and studying the issue. . . I thought the waiting perdiod for a CSX car was 3 months, I didn't know it could take 20+ months. How does it work? Do you buy it in kit form, or built from Shelby, like a Superformance? Then have someone add motor and trans... |
A friend of mine here in Hawaii bought essentially a "kit", a CSX 289 street car which he then assembled himself (351 bored/stroked to 427).
I suspect it's not very common for people to do that as most are assembled by dealers? |
Like a Superformance!
Yah, it's just like a Superformance roller, except you never see your car!
You must leave a large ca$h deposit and swear your loyalty for years before they will consider building one for you! Obvously I still have a ways too go! I think that the days of the 'turnkey' Shelby Cobra are over. At least here in Calif. DMV has bee revoking titles of dealer finished cars, calling them 'turnkeys'. Duane, by "what has been completed so far" do you mean my engine. Have you been to Tom's shop lately? You can see my engine there, she's a bute! No I am not ready to fold my hand just yet, just looking for some new 'operating funds' for good old Shelby American......er what ever they are calling themselves these days. Shelbyformance?:D jdog:) P.S. Duane I think the WSCB is turning out to be something great! I applaud your efforts! I only wish I had a car! |
Jdog,
I heard that they have not gotten two frames and a steering wheel in at SAI, but those will probably go to the first 70 some who are ahead of you. Maybe you should consider trying to buy the spot from whoever is first in line. However on the good side, by the time they get your's built, you most likely won't have to stand in line for a SB-100 number.  Ron :D |
Rob,
Glad to hear that all is well. If the 'Vette is a race car on the street, come on and bring it on the track with me. :D It's really a lot of fun, and if you drive smart, you'll be as safe as can be. I do agree, even if a certain Cobra friend of ours doesn't, that the Z06 is one hell of a production sports car. I haven't followed it as close as many others, but from what I've read, you'll probably want to stay away from the whole CSX debacle. You'll be more frustrated than you were the first time. I know you're looking for originality, but I think there are better ways to go. Besides, from what I remember in talking to you, you're looking to have a lot of fun. Any chance you'll bring that Z06 around our Cobra Revolution? :D Steve |
I would be glad to bring the enemy to the next Cobra Revolution.
I bet it's faster, better handling and better braking than MOST Cobras there anyway. . . (wating to reaction. I'll probably be lynched) Seriously, it would be fun. . . |
Go ahead and Bring it. just Park it in the otherside of the lot where it belongs with the Caterer's truck!
|
Sure, once I run circles around some of the Cobras....
 |
How many CSX 4000s can be made? An infinite number: 4999, 4999A, 4999B...4999Z, 4999AA, 4999BB...
|
I'll stand by my "original" statement!

jdog P.S. They have been averaging a steady 2 cars per month for the last 2 years. They just completed 4795, that leaves 200 cars to get to 4999. I'll stay with my original comment! |
