CSX1000 family indicates alum bodies/frame assy made for Shelby by the current owners of AC Cars

Allan A:

...fine, I will send you as soon as possible an eMail with details of CSX7045. Do you have any special details you want to see?
Also, I've noticed that you're owning 1/2 of a CSX7000. What are your experiences so far with this type of Cobra?
What would you recommend to buy, either a CSX1000 model or a CSX7000 both in aluminium?
Where can I find a vintage 289 engine?

Kind regards,
Daniel

nikbj68 06-16-2005 09:41 AM

Daniel, you might want to contact Fritz Phillips(who posts here, but I can`t remeber his username...... could be COB289)
He is Hawk Cars agent in Germany, and I`m sure Hawk can source 289`s.

scuderia 06-16-2005 09:47 AM

Hey Nik, thank you very much. I will try to contact the Guy.

Are you goint to attend SAAC 30?

nikbj68 06-16-2005 09:58 AM

All the best, Nik.

For those who want a classic hand-built aluminum-bodied open-topped two seat sports car with a V8 that gives 321bhp and 330lb.ft. torque, plus 0-62mph in 4.8 secs and top speed of 160mph for just $120,000, its your lucky day - the Morgan Aero 8 is available in the USA!!!! Grab one while you can......and its made in the traditional manner by happy workers who have a reliable, honest boss who pays the wages. In other words, you pays your money and you WILL get your car.

What'saCobra? 06-16-2005 01:05 PM

And the V-6 is only $74K...such a deal!

And it still actually looks like a Morgan.

But, as you point out, the lads in the Morgan shop actually get paid, rather than the indentured servitude at 'other' English car factories claiming to be solvent and 'making' Cobras...

...where, i'm told, they even have to bring their own tea bags, too.

Bound to cost more money to make Morgans, if you're actually going to pay the workers, isn't it?

But, Morgan is still a proper factory, run by proper blokes and Aero Styling aside, do a nice job of it, i'd say.

Daniel,

As far as photos, anything and everything. I would be happy to share.

As for the CSX 1000 vs the 7000, I prefer the 7000 for hard driving but if I had some extra cash the 1000 would be top on my list. Our 7000 is fiberglass, the aluminum version just does not have the same body IMHO, I would rather have the 1000 in aluminum vs the 7000 in aluminum.

Contact George at Gessford machine, he is on this site. He currently is a Shelby dealer and has a few 289 HiPo blocks ready for a nice build.

Thanks,
