Default CSX 7000 Question

Well, after having just gone to WSCB and seen one 289FIA (recall it was an ERA) and another slab side, wondering about how the CSX 7000 is configured.

I know it is about $20k more than the 427, but have so far not been able to find out whether it is configured with the leaf spring suspension that the original 289 had. Kirkham version does not have the leaf spring (which is a good thing).

Is the CSX 7000 rear suspension configured as the original or is it setup similar to the Kirkham 289?

As always, appreciate the input.

Bob

Default Csx7000

Suspension is set up like the original. However I know several people who say the suspension works very well.

I agree it is a good thing, but for the die hards we also offer the car with the original style suspension.

All, thanks for the reply and apologies to Kirkham. I knew you could get their 289FIA setup as original, just did not state.

Bob, I wouldn't be down on the leaf springs suspensions. I've seen a 7000 with leaf springs, a 345hp crate 302 and an automatic absolutely pummel a twin turbo AWD 911 Porsche on the track. Both drivers were NASA instructors.

Naturally, Jeff Gordon would probably be faster in the coil spring car, but most of us aren't quite to that level yet.
