According to this forum: Original T/A racing photographs, late 60's & early 70's

Quebec Regional Championship (25 lap race), Trois-Rivičres PQ, Sep 1970

Photo: Dick Brown Collection

Cobra would be CSX3048.

Well Thor, you are correct. It was a race for 2nd, 3rd, and 4th. Dick Brown's #61 Camaro led from the start, all through the 25 laps, to the checkered flag. By the sounds of the recap, the Cobra did finish, which wasn't always the case, especially with the little 289 cars.

Itsa a great picture.

If the 427 did not finish, I think sabotage ! A little paper in the fuel tank trick, or so that is what I heard.

"And the Camaro was a small [American] car for its day..."

Absolutly. Relatively. 108"WB, 185" body length. 3200#s, but I'm sure many pounds were shucked for TransAM racing.

When I refered to a "small" 289 car, I was refering to the smaller framed, fendered, powered 289 cars as opposed to the larger appearing 427 SC bodied models.

Karl,
I wasn't bashing on a comment you made. It's just an observation on how small and curvy the Cobra is next to a Camaro.

Although I really like the looks of first gen Camaros, especially the TA racers, they sure don't hold a candle to the lucious, lascivious, sumptuous styling of the beloved two seater Cobra roadster that gives me such a chubby. (ok, maybe I do have a leetle problem. The meds are helping and the voices no longer tell me its time to clean the guns)

Stop taking those "meds" that are little blue and kinda diamond shaped.

Sorry Nedsel, I can't see or know what you're referring to.

As always, my man Ned is correct; the Cobra has the large, hoop shaped "street" bumper thingie rather than the quick lifts found on SCs and Comp cars.

Hey Ned! As a street car, wouldn't an SC have had over-riders and not quick jacks? I'm speaking of original day-one sort of thing.
