I looked at the numbers for a 4.11 rear gear and thought the findings were interesting.
70 mph would be about 3,900 rpm. Top Speed at 6,000 rpm would be 108 mph. WHY anyone would go with a 4.11 rear gear for the street with a big block car is beyond me. It's just nuts. |
Tom,
I just double checked my email from the seller. He said dove motor. I think when I called him he mentioned dart. Could be my mistake. It could be that since the current owner isn't the builder he isn't 100% sure on some stuff. Excaliber, If I do end up with this roadster the 4.11s will be the first thing I change. Carl |
Carl,
Aaaahh. That makes more sense Most likely a stock cast iron headed 429. Here's a link to an earlier discussion that gives probably more than you wanted to know: http://www.clubcobra.com/forums/shop-talk/10940-dove-heads.html BTW do I see two fans - a pusher and a puller? Wonder if there's enough radiator? Tom |
Carl....is the car currently licensed and registered or is it still on the MSO.???
|
I'm not sure Bob. Since the current owner is the 2nd owner I had just assumed it was registered and licensed. Guess I'll have to add that to my questions list.
|
You might call your local DMV and ask if they will accept 3rd party MSO....they may not.
if that is indeed the case....if it has been licensed and reg. then your ok...if the car is from Cali. it should have an SB-100 which wount do any good in Oregon.. |
