Default Pretty far from a Cobra

http://www.shellvalley.com/For_Sale/

This purple Model A Roadster Replica (just below the incomplete Cobra) looks like it might be fun, and seems a lot closer to my budget than some Cobras I have been looking at. I know the driving and performance experience would be totally different, but might be fun just to enjoy the open air experience and the V8 rumble with my family. Does anyone know anything about this type of car in general or Shell Valley more specifically? Thanks,

Hey Wannabe,
There are plenty of companys that make a cobra kit that can be finished under 25K. I beleive Shell Vally has one too. All you have to do is check the listed advertisers on this site and check out their prices.
There is www.hurricane-motorsports.com and
www.factoryfive.com just to name a few. Hurricane is now moving to Dallas Texas. Also if you can't
build one then go with a Backdraft for under 30K it's done except for the engine and trans. www.Backdraftracing.com
See James Yale in Houston. He can help you a lot.
You got choices, you just have to look.
Hersh

Thanks Hersh. If budget wasn't an issue, I'd love to have a BDR with a KC SB. As always, I will keep looking for the right deal to come along and hopefully be able to pull the trigger when the time is right. I was just thinking for closer to $20K than to $40K, that little roadster looked like it might be fun.

We build rods and took our Deuce highboy(www.gearheadcity.com) to R&G in2006. It was running circles around the Cobras in the Novice class that my apprentice drove it in. I think Jay said it was clocked at 108 coming out of the back sweeper. Rory( my apprentice) said he just mashed the pedal and hardly ever needed to brake. Rods handle pretty well when set up correctly, they have a rougher ride than an IRS car, but probably equivalent to a solid axle Cobra. It's for sale too, at $22,000.

Man thats nice seeing a Hi Boy out there doing battle on the track! It seems like such a waste the multitude of hot rods you see at car shows knowing they will never see a track of any kind. Well done Woodsy!
