Tool Advice
Going to Sear's to use a gift card....any input on "gotta have" tools that one might not ordinarily have?

Ratcheting box end wrenches. Once you have them you'll wonder how you got by without them for so long....

I agree with Three Peaks, although they are somewhat shorter the convienence is remarkable, especially in tight places. Not a Craftman item but I use my racheting Snap on Screwdriver relentlesly. Best small tool I ever got.
PS: The Full sized Polished End wrenches are very nice, and they have a set of "Ignition Wrenches" in a small plastic pouch that are indispensible if working on distributors.

Those ratcheting box end wrenches with the pivoting head look smart. Sometimes it's not possible to use a socket or flat wrench.

Opt for the Sears professional vs the Gearwrench. Much better product IMHO.

Here are a couple other things that have came in pretty handy:
4" C-Clamp (I use it on brake calipers)
pencil soldering iron and some silver solder
Nut Drivers 1/4"-1/2" and 7mm-13mm Love em
Torx wrenches/allen head sockets(the long ones on a 3/8" drive)
3" crescent and 3" vise grip

Blasphemy!!, :LOL: love my gearwrench stuff, IMHO better and at a better price. But to the original question wratcheting wrenches are the way to go, others would be a rethreading set, brake bleeding tool. If you have enough a cordless impact gun is fantastic. |

I would never use an impact gun on anything. Even if I go to a tire shop, I will pay them extra to not use one.
Maybe it's just me.

It's just you. I use one all the time, for all kinds of things. Work smarter, not harder. |

Agreed, the Craftsman Professional wrenches whether std or ratchet have a slimmer head for tight areas, get what you pay for IMHO.

I picked up a standard set of I think 8 ratcheting wrenches that bend to 90 degrees. I also got a 4 drawer wheeled bottom toolbox to help organize and clean up all my different toolboxes.

x2 on the ratcheting wrenches, don't know why i waited so long. did buy a set at oreilly's and was using it for sometime when i needed a 7/16" wrench, reached for a ratchet and they didn't make one for that set!!! couldn't believe it and didn't check to see if it was a full set.
torque wrench is nice also.

I do have nice torque wrench. May be a bit big for Cobra applications, but I'm sure I'll get by. |
