Correct Muffler Orientation
IWith 289 engine I am using Arizona Exausts 24" 3 1/2" casing with 2 3/4" core with 3" tubing into and out of mufflers like FIA style exaust. My concern is that the instructions indicate the louver openings inside are intended to face away from the engine.
I am concerned about the actual muffling effect they will have if installed that way. I think if the louvers were facing towards the engine the exaust note would be less but there would be greater turbulence inside the muffler itself, and a shorter lifespan too I know these are highly recomended and the quality is very good, I would like to hear from someone running a similar engine/muffler combo. Also from you FE guys although with a larger displacement I would think the mufflers would be larger too.
Your responses are appreciated.
