Goodyear Tires
Shelby's tire people just told me the tires they recommend for Cobras are 26.5x8.15-15 front (D2546) and 26.5x10.5-15 rear (D2547), with the "G15" full depth tread. They are apparently not shown on the Goodyear site, yet they are available. A "legal" alternative for street use is the Goodyear Eagle GT II, either P235/60-15 or P255/60-15 front and P295/50-15 rear, although these are only "S" speed rated. Although not Goodyear, another probably close to perfect size setup would be P265/50-15 and P295/50-15 BF Goodrich T/A's. Too bad Goodyear doesn't have that size front available......

They are currently mounted on SAI's shop car serial CSX4000. |

Those are the same tires I am using. They are bias ply so they are not what you would call "set and forget" kind of tires. They will follow cracks and ruts like a whore after money. But they are recommended for Cobras! The tall sidewall allows the car to be lowered without the oil pan scraping the road. Pat |

I forgot to take a look at the front of your rear fender. How bad do they flip the rocks at them? |
Goodyears
The tires in the picture appear to be the ones. I just spoke with Geo Henderson at Shelby's facility (he supposedly is the guy that has run Shelby's Goodyear tire operations for 40 years) and he said the D2546 and D2547 were developed specifically for Shelby when he was doing the continuation cars. The front is actually about 1/2" shorter than the rear. He also said Shelby is using the P235/60-15 and P295/50-15 Eagle GT II's on cars that owners specify DOT tires for, although he claims the P255/60-15 would probably also work on the front.

I do have some stone chipping but I don't think it is much more than normal....of course I do try to stay off gravel because that really causes major pick-up. Pat |

Will do. The only thing is, since they are not inflated you can't really see much of a tread pattern. You can try this picture, if it is not close enough just say so and I can take another.

I have a feeling the G7's are not dot leagal. Would you run into a problem if you tried to get it registered with the G7's on the car. |

Don't know about your inspection process in Indiana but when I had to go thru the procedure while living in Colo on a rebuilt(no title)'67 El Camino ss, they never even questioned the tires and I had M/T "cheater slicks" on the rear. Unless the inspector is really savvy I don't think there would be a problem. As I once heard "tires are tires a car should have four of them" (from a vechicle inspector):D |

Actually, when you have a Wheel Chair Permit that they issue to OLD PEOPLE, you can park your car wherever you want. That is what Pat is doing. He is OLD!!
