Default Batter Cut Off with one wire alternator

I have a one wire alternator from Jegs. I am going to use a battery cutoff switch, primarily for safety in the garage, but I may take it to the track occasionally. I have heard a lot about the one wires still providing a charge even after the switch is thrown. What is the best way to wire this? Painless relay? Run the charge wire all the way back to the battery side of the switch?

Looking for suggestions. Would like to wrap this up and get the rest of the inner panels bolted down soon.

Run the charge wire back to the off side of the switch when the switch is off. There should be no hot circuits with the battery switch off.

I have the battery isolator switch on the negative (ground) side of the battery. Totaly isolates everything without any wiring alterations. Works for me

You should wire any cut off switches into the negative side of the system.
That is whty whenever your working on the electrical system it is recommended you disconnect the earth.
I have seen a car burn out its wireing harness when the positive battery cable was disconnected.
Allways disconnect earth first and reconnect earth last.

the good battery kill switches have four terminals, two battery cable sized, two for the ignition disconnect. If you only disconnect the battery cable, nothing much happens, the alternator keeps feeding amps to the ignition.
most of the switches out there are merely a disconnect, not a "kill switch"
