Default Tremec TKO II vs. TKO

Anyone know anything about the Tremec TKO II? I can't find much about it including looking at the manufacturer's web site. I think it's supposed to be beefed up some and have a lower 5th gear. I have heard it's also about $500 more expensive. How would it compare to the TKO? I will be using a fairly stout 427 and want to mate it to the most correct transmission.

I actually just got off the phone with House of Cobras with the same question and you are correct. It has a lower 5th but as far as gears, they are only a bit stronger than the reg. TKO. HOC has been trying to get one for 2 months now but they seem to be in short supply. My guys said the reg. TKO will be fine for my motor - 600 rwhp. We shall see...

I have installed a few of the TKO IIs and I just love them. The TKO II does not have the RPM drop from 4th to 5th that I have never been fond of. I have also noticed the TKO II shifts as nice as the 3550! For my money this is a much better trans. for the cobras I build at Performance Engineering.
