Cobra Hood, Trunk, door gap measurements

Do any members know if there are standards for the gaps between hood body, trunk & body, and door and body measurements? I am getting the body ready for primer and final paint.

I presently have a Lonestar Competition Chassis and wondered:

1. If any other members had a Lonestar and could advise what the gaps should be.

2. Is there a standard in the industry or benchmark most cobra replica try to adhere to for that detailed finished look?

3. Do judges at shows measure these gaps?

The closer the better. Another important item is uniformity.

I agree with Jeff. Uniformity and consistency is key. Keep the gaps tight.

3/16" was what was used on the originals.

Glass moves around more than aluminum in the heat, so I'd recommend going with the original look and as stated above, uniformity counts more than the actual measurement. Your car won't be judged on original dimensions. It will be judged on what is called "fit and finish". Such things as orange peel in the paint, or just plain poor quality paint and body work, ripples in the body work, crooked door trunk and hood fit and general attention to small details of appearance. Mostly though, it will be judged on what is known as "curb appeal" which is purely subjective and in the eyes of the beholder.
