Tires
Has anyone tried Yokohama Avid S/T tires? They are made for muscle cars and light trucks. They come in 295/50TR15 with 10.1 tread width and 26.7 diameter, 255/60TR15 with 8.1 tread and 27 diameter and 245/60TR15 with 7.9 tread and 26.5 diameter. On the Tire Rack Survey they get high marks. 8.8 rating for dry handling and 8.3 wet. Nothing but glowing comments from users. $78 dollars for the 295 size from Tire Rack and 60,000 mile warranty.
The ratings on this tire are much higher than other street legal tires in these sizes. I have used Goodrich T/A's in the past and although they looked good I had trouble getting traction.
I now have Mickey Thompson competitor tires which have good traction but they don't make them anymore. They also don't look as good since they only have 9 inch tread width on the 295/50/15 tires with a Zero tread wear rating. They are bias ply and were fairly expensive.
Thanks, Ray
