Default Blowby with 48 IDAs

Anybody out there have any trouble with their webered small block wanting to blow a little oil out the fillers onto the valve covers when it gets wound up? I think longer filler necks like the 289 cobras had on the all steel valve covers would fix the problem, but off hand don't know anyone that could modify my finned aluminum pieces.

I had the exact same problem with the breather side on my carb'd 351. It was just so annoying to have that little bit of oil drip down on the wires and headers. I finally put in a remote breather and it's dry as a bone now.

Pegasus sell a breather unit (catch can) that can be used. I have a set of the bent neck Cobra valve covers if you have an interest. Not cheap, though.

Cal, are the valve covers you have the steel ones with two fillers on each or are they finned aluminum?
Also, are you coming to the SAAC national in Nashville?

Thanks, Tim

They are original style valve 289 covers with the bent neck filler tubes on each cover. No, I won't becoming to SAAC this spring.

I also have a set of the "twin" stack original style that were used on the Daytonas. The best pic of them is with Miles and MacDonald, with Miles sitting in the chassis of 2287 and Brock holding a yard stick measuring height. The motor and Webers are in the chassis.
