Default Looking for engine shop in VA

Need to get some tuning done on my NAF Cobra. I live in the Richmond, VA area and am willing to transport within 100 miles or so if the shop is good. With the Nascar activity in the MidAtlantic, there should be something. York in Ashland is one choice, as they specialize in kit cars, but I am game for a race shop as well. rmbfish@attbi.com if you want to contact me directly.

Hey rmb,

I was going to suggest York as well. I live in Richmond as well actually about 10 minutes from them. My SPF should be ready in late april. I am planning dual carbs later this year and thought York might be able to help me tune them. Let me know your experience if you go to them.

Do you ever go to any car shows or events here in town?

John

My son and I drove to the VIR Gold Cup last summer for the weekend. We had a great time, car ran well (I had just purchased it then) and got to know it better. Best time was the parade lap option on Sunday where we got to open it up a little on the track. My 10 yr. old is still smiling.
I purchased the car complete, it is a rather old replica. It needs some cosmetics and tuning, but it still goes like hell. Not ready for car shows, but it still turns many heads. I plan on going to VIR Gold Cup again this year (they are featuring american V8's like Listers and Cobras), the Spring Carlisle kit show, and maybe Double Venom. I am a bit hesitant to drive it 8 hours each way for a weekend event. I take it to work, drive it on weekends as often as possible, and basically use it. It is not a show car, and due to the fact that it has a '69 Chevy 350 in it, it is almost blasphemous to hard core Cobra enthusiasts. Still goes like hell and is very reliable. Let's get together once your car is done.

I live in the West End. My car photos are in the membership page.
