Default Question about TREMEC 3550

I replaced the rubber shift boot on my SPF with a new one, and now the damn thing keeps popping out of gear when I let off the throttle or push in the clutch.

I know its the new boot, so any suggestions. The new one came from SPF, and while it is quite a bit stiffer than the old one, its not excessive. I didn't see where there is any way to adjust this.

TIA
Scott

Scott - I had the same problem when I switched from a T5 to a 3550. The shifter location was only slightly different, but it was enough that the boot would push it out of gear. I ended up going with a leather boot instead of the rubber one. Problem solved.

The boot needs to be centered better. It is shifted in one direction probubly. Also, the accordian folds sometimes stick together after being in a bag for a long time, pull the center of the rubber up and make sure the folds aren't stuck together.

OR, get the Pro 5.0 shifter. This is a much shorter throw shifter and it will eliminate the problem. I know it's and expensive remedy but it is worth every penny cause the trans shifts 100% better. If you order it direct from them you can eliminate their shifter handle and save 35 bucks.

Roscoe-
I forgot to tell you- remember the discussion we had about the plastic cup that was on the ball of stock shifter- I called Pro 5.0 and they said that you are supposed to re-use it on the new shifter.
