Waterpump Hose connection ??

On my water pump, there are the 2 small outlets/inlets on the passengers side. I know 1 goes to the thermostat bypass inlet and one goes to the heater core return.

Which one is which?


I am not running a heater core, so should I block of the outlet on the manifold and the Heater core return on the waterpump????
Or can these be hosed together, deleting the heater core from the line??

the upper fitting on the water pump should be connected to the thermostat housing. Remove the lower one on the water pump and block it off with a pipe plug. Block off the manifold fitting also.
