Mustang II or Pinto
I need a emergency brake retainer piece, the piece that engages the continuous loop e-brake cable--my NAF 289 has either the
M-II or Pinto emergency brake--they were the only Fords to use this system.
The part is not available through Ford, or any parts store, and I've checked every junkyard within 40 miles and only found 6 cars, none with a rearend.
This piece has a a hole in the forward end through which the "Z" type fitting from the brake handle is attached--Real mickey mouse type of attachment IMO--from which point you make your adjustments on the threaded rod from the brake "Z" type rod.
I was adjusting the rear brakes and had loosened the e-brake, took the car out to check the braking--forgot to retighten the e-brake and somewhere lost this piece---dumb
So if any of you have one or know where I can get one, or if you happen to have one on a parts car please let me know.
I really don't want to change out my e-cable---and I'm not a machinist
