Blykins,
I am not psoitive but I think the MSD is like the Jacobs I use in the case of plug gaps. I run a Jacobs Pro Street and they recommend a gap of .015 over the normal gap of .035. I played with different gaps and finally settled on .048 as that seems to work the best, both from feel and reading the plugs. I didn't index my plugs either and if you want to squeze out that lasy 1/2 horsepower you can do that.

Heh Blykins if you end up with a full throttle mid rpm (think torque peak), miss back the plug gaps down. Seems to be commong with the MSD's. Say to .040. But if .048 works, then why the heck not!

By the way Blykins, are you going to get that thing up to the Fling this year or what???? No body cares if it is finished or not. Heck I saw pictures of a guy that drove his CHASSIS to an event. That is right, CHASSIS, no body! No that is hard core man!

Well it's not exactly finished yet.....it's definitely driveable....I've had it out twice for a couple of 100' jaunts....but it looks awfully funny with no windshield, no rollbar, doughnut spares on the rears and wagon wheels/tires on the front.....hehehe.....
I just got the sidepipes yesterday. They sound pretty good. Of course they're not fastened on (unless you count the bungee cords) so when I would fire the engine up it would blow the pipes off.....hehehe.....
The plugs are carboned up from sequential engine firings to test different components of the car...and its developed a very very slight miss in the 2000-3000 rpm range. I pulled the plugs and they're sooty.....so I'm gonna change the plugs, fire it up and make sure it runs good....then shut it down for good until it's finished.
When is the fling this year? I'm getting engaged in July...so we'll see how tight a leash I'll be wearing.

Wagon wheel and bungee cords! Perhap you won't make it! It is June 25-27. Leave the car at home, grab the future Cobra wife and come on up any ways. Heck you are not that far! Besides, you may get some great ideas that you will want to use to finish it out.
By the way, you are getting engaged next month? So does that mean you have an engagement to get engaged? Sounds like a Dilbert pre-meeting meeting to me!
Do what I did. Get drunk on the beach and pop the question. More fun in my opinion.
Word of advise (like mine is worth anything!), your comment about the leash. There is a saying that goes something like "a man marries a women expecting her to never change and a women marries a man expecting to change him'. RUN away from those types. Cop a 'if you don't like me the way I am then $*&^ off' attitude and expose her to all your bad habits (beeee yourself), before the engagement. If she doesn't complain and she sticks around, you may have a keeper!

She's a keeper....she's buying me a battery box for "an early birthday gift". Gotta love it.

Any woman that would buy you a battery box with out looking at you cross eyed is a keeper! My wife once hunted down the mail man in order to get the bolts for the new oil pan so that I could get it on that day. Got to love a woman like that!
