Brass Radiator leak...

Was under the car this weekend to fix a small radiator leak, thought it was leaking through the threads on the drain plug... when I was chasing the threads with a pipe tap, I noticed that the solder joint for the bung was loose.

What do I use to re-solder the bung into the tank? I have already heated up the area and pulled it out; will scrape off all the paint and clean up the area.

Didn't know if I should use silver solder, what kind of flux - if any, epoxy, etc.

Dan: The best would be silver solder, however it might be easier to do with the radiator removed. Radiator shops would use just an acid flux with reular leaded solder. Either way be sure everything is clean. Use heat sparingly.

Probably wouldn't be too much trouble to pull the radiator and get it done right. I also noticed a bunch of stuff was in the bottom of the radiator when I stuck my finger in the hole... rust? dirt? who knows - so it probably should be flushed.
