Default Rubber bumpers

I lost one of three rubber bumpers, the other two are hard..They were at the rear of the hood .They're round ,1/2' dia head about 1/8' tall with a 3/16' wide styem about 1/2' long.In the days gone I could have gone to a local hardware store .They had almost everything. They sold to Lowes .Yuppy home improvement now.Heck, all I need is to get three of something close. I'm looking for a source . Ideas?

If you have Ace Hardware in Washington, try them.
The ones here in Hawaii have an aisle with all kinds
of little boxes with just about every kind of gadget
you might need. The stores (whatever kind) on the
mainland always have a better selection than ours, so
if you have Ace there you might be pleasantly surprised.

So far the search has been not very successful.Bigest issue is that the area in the bumper that fits the hole is thin like for sheet metal not 1/4" thick like a fiberglass car. I was thinking that I'd open the hole and inlet the area on top of the mounting surface and and glue a small washer into place flush with the surface and put the bumper into the washer.Kind of the long way around.

http://www.westernrubber.com/

This place proved to be a real good source for anything rubber related.

Default HOOD BUMPERS

CHECK WITH EVERETT-MORRISON www.everett-morrison.com/

OR UNQUIE www.uniquemotorcars.com/

I THINK THEY BOTH USE THE SMALL ROUND RUBBER BUMPERS ON THEIR HOODS. FORD EXPLORERS USE THEM SOMEWHERE ON THE DOORS OR HOOD.

I called Western Rubber & Supply,INC.Minimum order is $50.I found a bumper and Grommett in their online catalog, They didn't have either. They gave me the name of the manufacture of the the bumper and their part number( Accurate Products ,#4194).They also didn't have that bumper in stock in any compound .They would manufacture some in about four weeks with a minimum order of 4,000 .
What I want is three rubber bumpers to go into a fiberglass car. !/2 " dia round head 1/8" tall, 1/4" hole and the fiberglass is about 1/4" thick.
The 4 grommetts for the AC clutch and break pedals is the other thing. The pedal is about 1/4" thick the hole is 1/2" dia, the body of the grommett is about 1' dia.Kind of soft.Someone is a source . I don't know who at this point.I'll buy some spares if I ever find some.

I'm sorry I don't need to start a manufacturing run of thousands of pieces. I found a part number at a couple of places 4194 ,maybe an industry standard. I just want a dozen or so.I want to find somebody that has the stuff on a shelf or in a box.

Maybe if you ask them nicely they will tell you who they sell them to? They understand you don't need 10,000 of them., and they certainly know what their volume customers buy? Give it a shot, can't hurt???

I believe I saw the gromments on the A/C pedals on a Superformance at Carlisle, maybe you can call Dynamic Motorsports and see if they have them.

I checked the pedal grommetts at Cobra restorers .They appear to be about 5/8" OD.The ones( 3 out of 4 ) are about 1 " OD .not too tall and soft. Not bad to put a soft soled shoe against.
I just got off the phone with Pete in sales at Accutate Elastomer Products. All the part numbers I gave were out of stock, batting 1,000.But had some been in stock recently. some were ten years old. #4194 was one of the just out of stock. AH HA! there is a difference between the instock bin and sample bin.I may be able to get some 4194 bumpers through customer service as samples.I had stsrted today by calling Miller Products,Inc. They had just shipped an order of 4194 bumpers and all overages to a customerTthey wouldn't tell me who that was.So they sent me to Pete @ Accurate Elastomers. Somebody out there, has a boat load of 4194 bumpers .The number 41934 must be an industry standard I"ve seen it on more than one site ,all with the same dementions.
