Default Rear End Gearing for BDR

Hey guys,
Getting closer everyday to ordering my new BDR. My corvette just listed on line (see link)

http://adcache.collectorcartraderonl...0/76067520.htm

and now I am wondering what the best rear end ratio would be in a BDR with the Ford 351W (393 Stroker) crate motor and a Tremec 5 speed tranny with .68 OD

HI BRUCE,

3.1 IS STD.
3.4 3.6 3.9 ARE OPTIONS

I HAVE DRIVEN SEVERAL 351 ENGINED CARS WITH 3.1.
FOR ME, THIS SET UP, AS A REGULAR DRIVER THIS IS THE ONE I WOULD USE.
1 THROUGH 4 GEARS ARE VERY QUICK.
5 GEAR GIVES U 2000 RPM +- 70 MPH.
SIDE PIPES VERY QUITE AND U CAN TALK TO ONE AND OTHER WITHOUT DIFICULTY.

IF U NEED TO KNOW MORE JUST SHOUT.

HANG IN AND HANG ON FOR THE RIDE OF YOUR LIFE

REGARDS

Tony -
I am getting a reworked differential for my BDR #186 on order. Are there two E30s rear ends? A M3? The input/output shafts are different….correct? Just want to make sure I have the correct one on the way.

Rod,
I think the only bolt-in differential would be an E36

Hey Guys

I have already changed the gears in my BDR, got them thru BimmerWorld. It was a completed differential rebuilt and set up to sort of racing specs. Ordered it with 50% lockup, thought it would be a little tight on the street, but worksperfectly. I have my differential that I ordered with the car as a posi-track unit, it is and has 3.23 gears in it, if anybody thinks they want a posi-track unit ready to bolt in, she is for sale. It is an ok gear for just about any purpose, I just want my car to be a little more tempermental.

I have one ordered from Bimmerworld. It has 3:73 gears, 20/90 ramps and 40% lock.
