my spats are custom made leather. trimmed with a fuzzy edging. snap on the tonneau top on the top, a snap button under the car, with a strap. Velcro strips behind the body, out of sight. Have replaced the velcro once. the guy I bought the car from had them made.

Finish Line sells 3 types. One clear, one smooth black and one textured black. All of these are static cling type that can be removed. I, just this morning, ordered the clear one(I don't have any chips yet). I've used spray on bed liner on wheel wells and underbody of several cars that I restored. It's very tough stuff and not too technically difficult. Eastwood sells a couple or varieties. I think one of them can be tinted before spraying. You can also just take your car to your local Rhino liner shop. They offer tinted, professionally applied product. -Bob

Kristen,

Is there any way I can talk you into tracing the shape of your leather spats and sending the template to me. I am trying to manufacture a set from leather I have and a template would be of great assistance. I will be more than happy to compensate you for the trouble and shipping.

Thanks,

Chris

hey, Chris. No problem. I will remove them, trace them, and mail them to you. I've had a couple of folks ask, and I ought to keep a couple of sets in my trunk! :)

I will also ask Gary if there are any tips I need to pass on to you.

PM your address.

Here is another choice (and my favourite) - Aluminum fender guards. I took the Pic below after fitting them to my Contemporary a few weeks ago. Made by a fellow Cobra owner, and an real work-of-art.

FYI, on the subject, there are a few responses and suggestions on an older post titled Wheelarch spats / fender guards - HELP

Pics with the spats are in my gallery. Scott
