seat rails

ok i admit im a bit short, 5-6 to be exact. I need a way to be able to reach the clutch without slouching. The seat thats in my contemporary isnt adjustable....did they make a adjustable seat for the driver?..and if so can anyone point me in the right direction so i can get one. My Cobra will be here on monday and id like to get an adjustable seat rail otherwise i have to figure something out....

NAPA sells one, part number 825-5017. They were about $17 per set (1 seat) last year.

just tried to look up that part number up at NAPA websight..said it couldnt be located......any other info on it?

Finish Line, Cobra Restorers, and some others also sell them (and eBay has an original set for $400). Not all will fit all "seats."

My wife uses a lumbar support attached to a solid pillow that pushes her 5 inches closer to the clutch. She's 5'2".

This is more of a quick fix then a permanent solution. But it is comfortable.

I bought slider rails from Summit. They raise the seat about an inch. Not exactly what I wanted . But my wife and I are different sizes and she helps with the financing. But now she has had shoulder surgery and the seat hasn't been moved in a while and probably won't been moved in near future. If it is clear that you are the only one to drive your car and you are happy with the heigth ,just move the seat to fit you. If you are too low ( I've never seen too low)The seat adjuster rails will raise the seat Other concerns are how your right leg meets the tunnel? for supporting your right leg on long drives ( my right leg laid flat against the tunnel while my wifes right leg crossed at a point like a an uncomfortable edge), are you facing the pedals ? so you don't torque your knees and hip when pushing the brake and clutch pedals. How is the reach to the steering wheel and pedals ?Is the seat sitting flat on the floor so when braking you sort of slide froward out of the seat? The seat bottom needs to be tilted slightly up in front but sliders should be flat on floor.My seat was originaly bolted to floor on wood wedges.The passenger seat was bolted flat to floor. . Regular car seats, the sliders are angled but have a spring assist to help bring the seat back forward. Under braking she had to hold herself into seat by bracing her legs.I'm not that tall but I dislike the being higher.Whe going fast ,lower is better.Looks like you'll have a whole bunch of aspects to considder.
