Air filter Blues...
Does anyone know who carries or sells the reusable oval air filters for the oval Cobra style air cleaner? I tried K&N but they were all too small. My housing needs a filter that's 20 1/2" by 9 3/4" with a hieght of 1 3/4".
I have the single use one from Tony Branda but I would very much like one that can be cleaned and used again.

Bernie,
Unifilter over here in NSW should be able to make any shape you like. I will be there in next week or two to have a "track day"filter made up for my cold air intake. If I can assist let me know.
They have a website so a search should find them. Sounds like your travels are going well.
Hope to catch up at te Nationals.

Phil
Thanks for the info.
I check the site to see what they can do. I tried the K + N site but they don't have the size I want to suit that air cleaner top and base.
As part of the engine rebuild I have removed the K + N top filter and round filter, along with the Victor Jnr. and big Holley.
Will check Unifilters site,
Thanks Mate

NROTOXIN
Thanks Curtis,
Just checked this site out. It did not appear when I searched the K+N original site a few days ago for re usable filters.
I'm just wondering, am I reading that this filter you found is a replaceable filter or one that replaces the existing filter for life - and it's a washable and can be re used multiple times.
I want the washable type. Similiar to ones in my gallery.
Thanks again, I will try and email them to get some tech. assistance or advice.

Bernie,
Yes it is wash n ware....wash n oil. I have the 3" tall one, E-1963. They say they are a "life time filter".

After much deliberation I have replace the 14x3 round K&N with a 14X4 Wix paper filter. I think the paper filter will remove more fine particles than the K&N although it is not renewable and must be replaced when needed. I believe the additional height will offset any benefit of lower restriction the K&N may provide.

NORTOXIN, Rick
Thanks for your help here.
I'm replacing the K + N filter system I currently have, with the new oval filter base/top in the traditional logo style. I removed the Victor Jnr and replaced it with a Edelbrock Performer which allows the oval cleaner to go on.
This photo was taken some time ago prior to painting the Cobra.
I did get a pack of filters from Tony De Branda, but felt it may be easier to use the re usable.
Thanks again, I will follow up the leads.

Bernie,
Are you sure that the filter is all that you replaced? That new look is great. I have the same type filter as you have on the new one, except mine is on a single carb. and is the black crinkle finish one. I use a billit one with a K&N when I plan to run the car hard. But for showing the long one gets far more attention as they think I have dual carbs.

I have an older EM with 427 FE with inline dual fours.Tunnel wedge intake doesn't leave much clearence and would like to take adsvantage of the scoop. Two S&H don't pass much air.I just saw the new Accel Kool Street System in the new Summit catalog. Not enough detail. Still looking for a low air cleaner that would let some air in from above.
What ever is gained from dual fours and a tall intake is lost with the two S&H air ceaners. I'm still looking for a way.

I just bought some Accel products, and there is a ton of info on their web site (Mr Gasket).
They have a Tech section with FAQ's, E-mail questions and a tel number.
