OK, I'll bite. Thats weird, I have no idea why you would do that. Was he also running a turbo charger AND a super charger?

Never have seen that on any of the Mustangs or other cars around here. Maybe he just wanted more spring strength than he could get in just the one spring. But when I got mine, I could get about any spring strength and length that I wanted. Wasit that way both in front and back?

Just the rear...the front coil spring is over the shock anyway, so if you use coil overs it replaces the spring...however, the rear has a seperate mount for the shocks and springs so he could run both....like i said, I had never seen it before......

All I can ad is, a lot of people racing in autocross, change to coil overs for more stiffness, better handling & adjustabilty. Maybe he's racing ?

Earl,
I am running a Ford 8.8 rear with the quad shocks and four point hookup, tried using stock spings, my right fender on the rear would hit the tire whenever I stepped on it, tried the coilover shocks and still had problems, put the coil springs back in and I am running both now, the little 302 will turn up more torque than you would expect.

Maybe the person was miss-informed.
Maybe he/she thought it was 'cool' and didn't have a clue.
I mean, when I was much younger, kids jacked up the rear end and stuffed wide tires under the car using air shocks. We didn't know anybetter.
Earl, I think you saw what someone thought was a cool idea.
Hey, it could happen.
