Default how fast

im getting started on a cobra kit and im wanting to drag race it at my local track. how fast can i legaly go with just the small factory loop roll bar? nhra

jgr,
get yourself a removable hardtop and your three point roll bar will suffice until you go under 11.99 or 10.99 depending on the rule sanction rules that the track uses. Otherwise, you will get pegged to the inspection fence with the "convertible rule" of 14 seconds or so, NO FASTER!!!
They will let the bikes run all night however at under 11 seconds without requiring anthing but a driving/jumpsuit and helmet, go figure.

I asked at a local track my son was racing at. They said it won't pass tech without even looking at it. I was told to talk to the owner of the track and see if he would let me drive on high school night. He said I could have one run thats it! Jim

I used to run my old ERA in the street class, it would run 11:20's at close to 120 MPH and nothing was ever said. It was at a NHRA track too.

Hi,
You need a 6 point rollbar 3" above your head.
arm restraints, snell full helmet,battery disconnect switch,neutral safety switch,SFI gloves and jacket, 5 point SFI belts,current within 2 years of date.2 carb return springs, scattershield for clutch. driveshaft safety loop,this will tech to 11.00 ET.
a stock cobra will not be allowed to run.
