Bolt on or pin drive wheels

I need to replace my 16" dia Compomotive HB wheels with the 17" versions to be able to mount high performance tires. I was originally going to order the bolt-ons like I have now. Compomotive offers the pin drive adapters and wheels like several other wheel brands do. What is life like with pin drives? I do that you safety wire them but are there other issues? vibration? more unsprung weight? wider track required (I guess this could be accounted for in the specs of these 3 piece wheels)? I know that the pin drive wheels and adapters look original and cost more. Thanks

I would say bolt so you will have more wheel options. Of course the originality nuts will disagree.

One of the sponsors here Vintage Wheels has the 17" Cobra wheels with adapters available. Nice wheels and retains more of the "Original" look.

There are varying opinions, Obviously. As far as wiring the spinners...Some say yes, others, no. Lynn Park told me that I should give my spinners a couple good whacks, drive around the block & smack them again then you shouldnt have to worry about them. I havent had a problem yet... Of course you will need a some anti sieze lubricant..
