The cars are about 13 feet long -

Have you thought about renting a 15 foot box van?

Measure the the widest point of the car, usually the rear fenders or tires. That will give you a good starting point. Most trailers wide enough will be long enough but the better suspension you have the better off you will be.

You might be surprised to find it's cheaper to have it delivered by a car-hauling outfit. It was in my case. You rent a U-Haul two ways, or pay about that much even if you rent it one way. The car haulers will pick up a car somewhere near you to haul to another location. It's worth a phone call or two to find out.

The other problem using a Uhaul other than a car carrier is the lack of tie downs. I don't know how you would secure the car in an enclosed Uhaul trailer.

Hey Paul,

U-Haul rents a trailer for hauling cars. I checked their website, from N. Chicago to Orlando it will cost $626 +. Assuming you are driving something else anyway, that's probably cheaper than using a car hauling Co. If you're making a special trip, or don't have a vehicle that will pull their trailer, the total cost will get a lot higher. I'd drive it! It's a blast out on the interstates!

Stop by in Atlanta on your way south!
