Default Dead fuel pump........

.........or dying at best! Does anyone have any suggestions on what brand of pump I should put on? I was under her today, but did'nt get a good look at what was there now. I dont want to spend $500, but I dont want junk either. Running 306/375 HP motor W/ Holley 600.

Holley electric fuel pumps are not known for their reliability. Carter electric pumps are fairly quiet, inexpensive and reliable but don't have name recognition.

I WAS looking at Holley, but found a couple of posts with the same info you give, so they are out! I was looking at the Aeromotive brand - Street/Strip H/O model. $182 is fine by me & I have seen in some posts they are recommended as is Carter also. I just want to make sure it will pump enough fuel.

After going thru 2 Holley 'reds', I took the advice of other forum members and went here:
Carter GP4594 - Carter Universal Rotary Vane Electric Fuel Pumps - summitracing.com
Works like a champ feeding a big block and has been perfect (and much quieter than Holley) for years now.
I would use it as a 'pusher' to a mechanical pump (belt and suspenders) but I had to eliminate my mechanical for oil plumbing.

If this baby is feeding your big block, it should be fine for my 306 I figure. I have a regulator on the fire wall. Should I just bypass it with this pump, or would it be needed?

I run it straight up, no problems w/ no regulator.

I have had an Aeromotive for over 6 years and not one problem. I also run a regulator to fine tune the fuel. A good mechanical pump works for the Nascar guys.
