Default Leak stop

Who has used anti coolant leak products such as "Bar's" with "Rhizex" pellets?
Were they useful? Did you noticed side effects (overheating, clogging)???

I have used the Bars Leaks product which is dry tablets about one inch in diameter. They come on a package of six. They have worked excellently. I dissolved them in a 12oz. bottle of water and added them to the coolant. When coolant came up to operating temp the leak was gone and stayed gone.
I have been told to not use their product which is a brown liquid with pellets.

You might want to check into ceramic sealers as well. They are a bit more of a pain to use but work pretty damn good.

I've used the powder aluminum sealer with great success. Many car makers add it to new cars to reduce warranty claims due to minor leaks.

Bars leak is one of the best automotive products ever invented. Every new car manufacturer utilizes some type of leak preventative product such as bars leak. I have numerous GM and Ford dealership service manuals (the one's like phone books) and they clearly state if the cooling system is drained to add 4 tablets.

You cannot go wrong putting a dose in. I had an old Lincoln Mark 4 with a 460 and the water was a stream comming out of the radiator, put the stuff in, stopped before my eyes and sold the car 4 years later.
