Default New Shelby GR-1 coupe at the Concours!

The new Shelby GR-1 was just unveiled at the Concours. Check out the news and pics at the below links:

Pics: GR-1 Pics

News story: GR-1 announced at Pebble Beach Concours

Looks like a modern interpretation of the Daytona Coupe - and a darned good looking one at that. I'd buy this over that new Shelby Cobra in a heartbeat.

What do you think, guys? Gotta have it?

I can see that as a direct competitor to the Viper and 'Vette. That is the best looking thing to come out of a Ford design studio in a long time.

Lightbulb Now I Understand!

Just read the press release and looked at the photo's @ Shelby's Web page, for this 'Monstrosity'.
Those guys at SAI must have been pretty busy working on this one! WOW! Now I understand the delays in the CSX cars.
These little CSX 'hobby' cars must just be getting in their way! Do you think that SAI would credit my deposit on CSX4795 towards one of the first GR-1's? Anyone need a 427fe side oiler?

NO WAY! I WANT MY CSX!!!

jdog

P.S.
Hey SAI, lets work on the cars that you already have SOLD!

jdog -
That new Ford concept car is the best looking design I have seen in a looong time - I think I'm in LOVE! While I am sure that Shelby is proud to have his name associated with the new car, I doubt that anyone at SAI had much if anything to do with the actual design or production of this car.
The press release credits George Saradakis as being the designer of the GR-1.

The profile kind of reminds me of the kit car, Jamaican, or something like that.

A HOME RUN! I'd sign up instantly if it were in the Viper price range!

Just got back from the Detroit Auto Show. The Ford area was rocking! Their exibit was packed every time I walked by. The GR-1 was the hottest car at the show. Ford also had some of their crate motors and part on display.
