Default 427 SR/TW Roush ?

Has anyone upgraded to a bigger carb? I have heard that the 950 Holley works great... any experience? John

If you ask Jerry from Suncoast Cobra he will tell you how much better it works

As it happens It was on brd 602 when I got it - installed by Ted from Suncoast... I changed it to EFI in order to meet European standard - and get the Weber look...

If you are interessted I left the whole package ( polished Edelbrook, Holley 950, aircleaner +++) with Jerry - it is as new and will fit 100% on your engine...

Don't know that the 427SR/TW warrants that big a carb. If it's for drag use maybe, but street I would think not. I have the same motor in my SPF GT40. I do track days with it. Swapped the Holley 770 vacuum carb out for a Quick Fuel 750 mechanical. With a wideband A/F meter it is pretty easy to dial in jetting. Also the Quick Fuel allows a lot more adjustability than the Holley. The gas mileage is actually about the same as the Holley vacuum.

the holley 950 has a 750 body and an 850 base.

the holley 1000 is an 850 with shaped airhorn.

I bought my SPF Roush 427 SR TW used. The original owner was not happy with the original Carb and bought a Bigs 750 CFM Stage 5, no choke. He was much happier with the new one. I get almost 15 mpg easy freeway, 12.5 average, really bad when on it. I'm very happy with the set up, but I have nothing to compare it to.

Same engine as you.

Pro Systems is recommending an 830 CFM DP for my use.
