351W Intake Question

I have a 351W with a edelbrock performer intake. On the Passanger side right next to the carb by the center 2 intake bolts there is a small triangular hole in the intake. Question is, can I just fab up a cover for this and bolt it down using the intake bolts with some rtv?

it sounds like its for a bimetal spring to work with a mechanical choke..... inside the hole......does it actually go anywhere?, if its just a cavity, then yes cover it up.
