Default 8.8" 3.55 Ring & Pinion Gears

Looking for the best 8.8" 3.55 Ring Gear and Pinion that money can buy. Best to me means light, strong and efficient transfer of power. If knowing the HP helps, figure around 450 at the driveshaft. Is Ford Racing the only game in town for these gears?

I believe Moser Engineering has what you are looking for. This link is for their Pro Street. They also have a Pro Series that is meant for racing only. Good luck.

I would use Ford Racing or Motive red label stuff. Both very high quality.

If you want to pay to have them lightened, they will take about 3-4 lbs out of the gears, and a REM polishing helps with friction.

If you want to try something, you can buy a whole irs pumpkin, or for that matter the complete rear suspension out of a t-bird for about $250, then you have the uprights, shafts, hubs, and any other bits you may need in the future. You can find them with a 3.27 or similar gear with the trac loc. I have one waiting for install with the tko600/.82 od and I think it is going to be the sweet spot, yet to find out for sure though.

The racing gears are a little "Softer" and are intended to take the shock loading of a Drag Race start. IE not as brittle.
