Why couldn't this engine run on 93? Only 11.5:1 and enough camshaft to bleed off some cylinder pressure and it shouldn't be a big deal.

You could be right.

For the torque to be 1.5 x the displacement, you have to be near 100% VE. To get near 100% VE north of 5K RPM, you have to be doing a lot of things right. This is not your every day run of the mil engine!

Wow
thanks for sharing the build - I'm sure you're delighted with the result.

Potent package there.
You have better "shelves" than I do.
At 1.52 TQ per cid on 11.5:1 compression that package is far from the normal expected range of "off the shelf" components. Although the RPM band on this build is considerably higher, the overall numbers would have been very, very competitive in any of the Engine Masters competitions - and I suspect that none of those would have been considered "off the shelf".

Here another engine Kuntz built recently. This 376 SBF engine was built for a weeks worth of abuse (drag week) Nothing exotic , 11.1 compression, pump gas, Jims 15 degree heads. It will run sealed all week (no vacuum Pump).

Impressive. Both engines have exceptional BSFC figures.
Can I ask what carburettors?

During an internet search I found my engine in this forum. And no, it won't fit under the hood of my Pike's Peak car as well. Working through issues with car, currently. Will give more updates in the future.

That is some insane power from a 438. I wonder what it would make if you bumped the compression down half a point and used a hydraulic roller with some modified lifters to let it pull to 7000. Threads like this keep my hopes alive for my small block
