Replacing a sbc with a 427R motor
I have taken out a sbc motor from my Contemporary Classic.
The plan is to install a Roush 427R Motor.
The big question is the left and right post that are welded to the frame , which held the motor in place .Can these be reused for a sbf?
Does anyone know the height of these post if using a SBF 351w block ,and also the distance from axle center line to get the proper weight distribution on all four tires.
The other issue is motor mounts, does anyone sell motor mounts for a sbf that will bolt to the existing posts.

Nick Acton (Mickmate here on the forum) hs the proper motor mounts for your car. You will have to cut the old ones out and weld the new ones in though.

Why not install an FE? You could get a nice 428, or a low mileage ally BB for [new] Roush SB money, easy.

I think what Thor is trying to say is, whatever money you put into your Cobra with a Ford, especially an FE, you'll get back when you sell.

Yes , if you put $20k for an FE in your cobra you will get back $12k more at sale time than if you stayed with the Small block Chevy. That's like Wall Street, what a great investment. |

About $180/share today, up about 8% in the past 12 months and near its 5 year high. Pays a decent dividend of roughly $2.40 or 1.4%. That's a pretty good pick, but the beta is a bit high for me. |

Any one have motor mounts for a 351w motor going in a contemporary cobra.
