Default distributor cap and rotor question

Just ordered a new distributor cap and rotor for the SBF with the small diameter, my question is will the new cap which uses screws for the hold down through the plastic of the cap work with the distributor that used the aluminum hold downs with the screws holding the aluminum pieces which held down the cap. I believe the distributor is a MSD 8579 Billet small dia distributor and the cap is 84313 with a 8467 rotor. Why, I ask is the new cap appears to be about 1/8 higher than the cap it is meant to replace.

Bill,

An 84313 is a black version of an 8431 red, both are screw down caps.

Your rotor is correct.

Can you post some pics of your differences, height etc?
