				Tremec TR-6060 - dual overdrive ?

		Hello
https://www.tremec.com/anexos/TREMEC_TR-6060_1017.pdf
description tells me "dual overdrive"
6 gears to switch, does the overdrive need a actor to be activated or something else?

I believe the TR-6060 is similar to the Tremec T-56 Magnum in my Cheetah. In that case 5th and 6th gears are selected just like the other gears. They are "dual overdrive" because there are two gears with ratios less than 1:1.

		Thanks,
so I do not have to switch an actor or something else, perfect.

still wondering what this actor or switch means? (which gear?)

There are two electrical plugs on my T-56. One activates the reverse lockout solenoid and the other completes a circuit when reverse is engaged (to activate backup lights, etc.). The connection in your photo MAY be for the reverse lockout solenoid.

its strange , I already think of I have a T56 Magnum gearbox

the solenoid for reverse lock I use is on the back next to the shifter

this pic solenoid? I do not understand the function, positined in the middle of the gearbox at den top plate

on right side of the gearbox is a switch, activated by reverse gear

Download a Tremec service manual from their site. It will answer all your questions.

I have a T56 magnum in my Unique. I put a toggle switch on the dash that activates the reverse lock out solenoid. Reverse is all the way right and up. It is VERY difficult to overpower the solenoid spring to engage reverse without activating the solenoid. This is a great feature, and easy to wire in. I have no need for the second switch activating a backup light/backup camera/etc. circuit, so that is not wired. Additionally, I have a speedhut GPS speedo, so I have no speedo output wiring either.

There have been several threads debating the optimal OD gearing over the years: apprx 0.82 vs apprx 0.64. Just stick in the 6 speed and you don't have to choose!!

My reverse lock out solenoid is switched by EcuMaster controlling unit, works perfect
Shifting all 6 gears is very smooth, it like it a lot and the gearbox does not make any noise. I have done a mechanical deflection of the gear lever, to be aligned perfectly with the steering wheel and handbrake.
The switch on the right is used for a activating the reverse light.

what I found out now on the T-56 service manual is, that the solenoid in the middle below the top plate is part 173: Solenoid, Skip shift

OK, what does Skip shift exactly mean?

Skip shift is a US fuel saving "feature" that is on factory installed transmissions but not the T-56 Magnum. This discussion describes it: Skip Shift

I think they are pretty much all dual Overdrive, it's basically a close ratio 4 speed with a .7 fifth and .5 sixth. The final drive in my 94 Firehawk was something like 1.71:1 in sixth gear with a 3.42 rear axle.
